Kempton DJ launches new single

HOUSE music DJ and producer Elton Zama Masheke, aka Eltonnick, will be launching his latest single ‘Release Me’ on Saturday, August 8.

Since the single’s release on iTunes the track has made waves nationally and in the local music scene.

Release Me, which features vocalist Jon Delinger, is a track off Eltonnick’s upcoming album BTMH, which stands for Blood and Tears, or Milk and Honey.

Eltonnick was working as the resident DJ at a Kempton club in 2006 when he was spotted by Baainar Records CEO, Lunga Nombewu and by 2008 the musician was a salient signed artist at the record label.

26-year-old Eltonnick has since become a reputable brand in the house music scene and released his first single, Salt and Water, under Baainar Records in 2009. In 2010 he went on to release one of his biggest songs, Baainar Theme Tribal remix, which was included in many CD compilations including Euphonik and Dj Miggs.

In October 2011 Eltonnick released his debut album, Eltonnick – TME, which featured popular vocalists such as NaakMusiQ, Shota, Zaki Ibrahim and Zano. Move, the first track off his debut album featured stable-mate NaakMusiQ and went on to reach the number one spot on community radio stations, on 5FM’s #PowerNights with Fresh and Euphonik, Metro FM’s #OskidoIBelieve and #Hot99 with Just Mo on YFM.

At the age of 16, Eltonnick taught himself how to use a music making programme on his cousin’s computer. As his passion grew, he learned different techniques of using sounds in his songs.

Eltonnick invites all his fans and music enthusiasts to attend the free single launch at Ha Moloi Opulent Cuisine in Monument Road, at 6pm.
