Police arrest 166 suspects
166 arrested by Tembisa cluster during December 2015

The Tembisa cluster arrested 166 suspects over the weekend of December 19 and 20.
Warrant Officer Meldah Sekgobela said 82 of them were found driving vehicles whilst under the influence of liquor and 62 of them were arrested by Tembisa police. Thirteen suspects were arrested for possession of dagga, five for drugs, 12 for assault, four for robbery and another four for murder. She said other suspects were arrested for cases such shoplifting, theft, reckless and negligence driving and malicious damage to property.
“Amongst the arrested is a murder suspect, a 41-year-old woman, who was arrested on Friday, December 18, in Rabie Ridge, after assaulting and killing a 26-year-old lady in Kanana section on Wednesday, December 16. It is alleged that the suspect accused the victim of having sex with her husband. All the suspects were expected to appear in the Tembisa Court on December 21 to face their charges,” said W/O Sekgobela.
W/O Sekgobela also appealed to the community to assist the Gauteng SAPS to fight fraud, corruption, unethical behaviour or any other suspicious activities by phoning the Gauteng Standby Provincial Duty Numbers: Duty General – 082 313 8299 and Duty Brigadier – 082 334 4354.
