BezFest, a first of its kind to hit the East Rand

Tickets are available online at www.ticibox.co.za at R150 per person

FOR local Kemptonian friends and founders of the new day-festival that will blow away the East Rand, music is not only their passion but also their part-time job.

Musicians Brendon Bezuidenhout, Micheal Viljoen and Gustaf Swart came together to create their first ever brainchild in the form of a festival called BezFest, which will be hosted on April 30.

The festival is set to target the East Rand rock, blues and folk music lovers, and allow them to be a part of a new culture that originated on a plot in Bredell.

“With the festival, we are catering for the East Rand locals to have a chance to enjoy some good music in their own area and we aim to host one every month,” said Bezuidenhout.

Local bands such as Blazin Gooch, Pollinator, Scarlotte Will, The Jack Rolling Dandy’s, Sheldon Payne and the Blue Veins, Strait Jackal and many more can be expected on the day.

Here is a teaser of what to expect from one of the local bands, Carri Wolfe:

“BezFest is all about supporting the local up-and-coming bands, artists and businesses, to also get exposure,” said Viljoen.

With the help of local sponsors such as Brannas Draught, Railways Café and Jimmie Anker Apparel, the day is set to be very successful.

Craft food stalls, local art displays, a cash bar and loads of promotions and giveaways will also be available. Own beverages and picnic baskets are also welcome.

“We are very excited to announce that we will be welcoming TuksFM DJ, Skinny Coco and beatboxer Chris McClements on the stage as our MCs for the day,” said Bezuidenhout.

Gates will open at 9am and tickets are available online at www.ticibox.co.za at R150 per person or R180 at the gate. Children under 12 get in for free.
