Churches find survival strategies

Churches postpone their annual baptise ceremonies due to national lockdown regulations.

Since the announcement of the lockdown, places of worship have also ceased services.

Pastor Sarch Khoza said as churches they have been badly affected by the regulations especially over the Easter holidays.

“This has impacted negatively our need to fellowship, while we cannot even baptise people. Baptism is part of salvation.”

Khoza said they have resorted to using our social media platforms to stream their sermons.

“Yet we still fail to reach so many because they are not familiar with technology.

“Most of the youth are also faced with not having enough data, since data is expensive. At least at some schools they had access to free WiFi.

“As churches we had no choice but to stick to government regulations and obey for the sake of our people and our country. This provides an opportunity for us pastors to pray for this country.

“Once the lockdown is over, all congregates will be notified about a way forward. For the time being, stay at home and pray. Be safe and join us on our social media pages.'”
