From May 10 to May 12, 9 firearms were confiscated from the streets of Ekurhuleni.

Several suspects were apprehended for various crimes between May 10 and 12 by the Crime Intelligence Office Ekurhuleni District.
Members of the intelligence office received information on May 12 about a meeting of the suspects in Entsonalanga, Thembisa, to commit a truck hijacking.
According to Captain Nelda Sekgobela, Ekurhuleni district communications officer, the information was shared with members of the Flying Squad.
“When they arrived at the address, they discovered the meeting had been adjourned. The law enforcers searched the premises and discovered firearms, ammunition, bulletproof vests, boxes of watches, and boxes containing assorted liquor. The owner of the place was arrested after being found on the roof.
“Police members also detained another suspect in the Sethokgwa Section of Thembisa for possessing a black Glock Firearm with the serial number filed off and 12 rounds of ammunition,” said Sekgobela.
Major General Anna Sithole, Ekurhuleni district commissioner, was impressed by the police members' quick response in tackling the proliferation of firearms in the district and praised the community for assisting the police in this battle against crime.
