SAPS, stakeholders hold a drug awareness campaign at school.

Local law enforcement officers discuss the temptations and pressures that students encounter when it comes to substance usage at Gahlanso Primary School.

Thembisa South's Social Crime Prevention officers, in collaboration with partners from the Department of Social Development, Makukhanye Alcohol and Drug Centre, Department of Education, and local Pastor Mr Zulu, held a substance abuse school talk at Gahlanso Primary School on May 9.
According to Const Mavuso, Thembisa South communication corporate officer, many stakeholders addressed concerns about the use of substances among students and bullying by students in schoolyards.
“The teachers were pleased to see such collaborative efforts that demonstrate an interest in encouraging students to think about their future and take their education seriously.
“The school's principal recommended that all stakeholders continue to monitor the students and communicate with them at all times to ensure that they are safe under one roof,” said Mavuso.
