Suspects use toy gun to rob victims

Both suspects aged 28 and 25, were arrested for robbery.

Alert members of Rabie Ridge SAPS sector policing resulted in the arrest of a suspect armed with a toy gun.
Members were conducting patrols on May 16 at 20:00 in Kanana Extension Four when they noticed a white Nissan Almera driving off at a high speed.
According to Rabie Ridge SAPS corporate communications officer, Sgt Dipolelo Moremi, the police members then encountered a man who told them he had been robbed of his cellphone at gunpoint by the occupants of the white Nissan Almera.
The members pursued the vehicle until they reached Thembisa's Umthambeka area.
“Some of the occupants got out of the car and fled in different directions. Two were located in the vehicle with a toy gun and phones. Although no one was hurt, both suspects were arrested for robbery.
“Investigations will determine whether the suspects are linked to any other crimes in Kanana, Phomolong and Mayibuye areas,” said Moremi.
