Sandringham SAPS is investigating multiple charges following a fatal shooting and attempted hijacking in Modderfontein earlier today.
This comes after two suspects tried to hijack the driver of a BMW on the off-ramp near Modderfontein Road.
Sandringham Police Station spokesperson Warrant Officer Aaron Lebuso said the driver was approached by two suspects. One was armed with a handgun.
He said the driver was travelling in a northern direction.
“After the suspects approached the victim, they ordered him out of his car,” said Lebuso.
“After seeing the suspect's firearm, the victim drew his firearm and started shooting at the suspects, fatally wounding both.”
He said Sandringham SAPS is investigating cases of attempted hijacking, pointing of a firearm at a person, armed robbery and an inquest docket.
