Home Affairs on Wheels in Krugersdorp West today

Residents will have access to Home Affairs to apply for essential document services.

Residents of Krugersdorp West will have the opportunity to access a range of Department of Home Affairs services when the Home Affairs on Wheels Outreach Programme visits Paul Kruger Hall on Flemming Street on Thursday, June 25, from 09:00 to 15:00.

The outreach programme aims to bring essential government services closer to the community, making it easier for residents to apply for important documents without travelling to a Home Affairs office.

Services available today will include:

• applications for Smart ID cards
• passport applications
• assistance with birth certificates
• death certificates and marriage certificates

Residents will be able to submit applications for Smart ID cards and passports on the day, and the service will not be limited to collections only. First-time ID applications will also be processed.

Residents applying for a Smart ID card re-issue must bring their green barcoded ID book or an affidavit if the ID has been lost or stolen. The fee for a Smart ID card re-issue is R140, payable by card only. Pensioners will receive the service free of charge.

Community members do not need to make appointments before attending the outreach event and can simply arrive at the venue during operating hours. Organisers have confirmed that only card payments will be accepted and no cash transactions will be allowed.

To accommodate the expected demand, two Home Affairs mobile trucks will be available to assist residents throughout the day.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early and ensure they have all the necessary documentation and a bank card ready to make the process as smooth as possible. The outreach initiative is expected to provide a convenient and accessible way for residents to access essential Home Affairs services within their community.
