Krugersdorp High School opened their hearts by collecting and donating over a 100 pairs of tekkies to charity.
An initiative started by a Krugersdorp High School pupil saw the collection of some 120 pairs of tekkies for disadvantaged pupils in and around the Krugersdorp area.
The ‘Share A Pair’ initiative was the brain child of the KHS Grade 12 pupil Lauren Rowe.
The aim of the initiative was to collect as many second hand tekkies as possible to donate to less privileged netball players.
The tekkies had to be in a good condition.
Under the leadership of the current first netball team captain, Angie Mtombeni and a Grade 11 first team member Nikita Habbig, the initiative continues to gain momentum.
Share A Pair distributed the 120 pairs of shoes on Friday, 24 May at the annual Farm School tournament held at Randfontein Primary.
The Krugersdorp High netball girls ensured that each player at the tournament received a perfectly-fitting pair of shoes in which to play the tournament. The ‘Share A Pair’ campaign will continue in 2014.
