Vineyard plants trees for Arbor Month

The pupils from the Vineyard Christian School had fun getting their hands dirty.

To celebrate Arbor Month, the Vineyard Christian School decided to involve their pupils with the planting of 21 trees on the school ground.

Nikita Potgieter, a Grade R teacher says they decided to involve their pupils as they wanted to show them how important it is to plant trees and care for the environment.

They also have planted seedlings in the garden of the school.

Henri Smith, school principal says that it will be an annual event for the school where they will continue to plant trees on the school ground.

The pupils were very excited on getting their hands dirty and doing something for the environment, but the idea of spending their money at the Grade 7’s entrepreneurs day stalls seemed much more entertaining.

As soon as the trees were planted the pupils rushed to buy something sweet and pay for the several entertainment events that were available.
