Khosa Rugby Club honours rugby stars
Several rugby stars from the Khosa Rugby Club were awarded during the annual awards ceremony.
The Khosa Rugby Club recently had their annual rugby awards ceremony at the club when they honoured the players who excelled during the 2013 rugby season.
Michael Moxley, one of the coaches says that the evening is not about the coaches but that it is about the players.
“The club can look forward to next year and I believe it is about time that we win a final.”
He says that they will implement a new game plan next year and that the clubs should fear them.
“But for now let us remember the season that was.”
The following rugby players in their respective teams received awards:
The U/20 trophies were presented by Mike Allin (rugby club vice chairman).
• Best back player award was handed over to Paul Fouché and Quinton Steyn
• Best forward player award was handed over to Travis Lindique
• Most improved player award was handed over to Henry Greyling
• Player of the year and the Players’ player award was awarded to Keegan van der Merwe
The second team trophies were presented by Gert Slabbert, second team coach.
• Martin Jordaan received the nest back player award
• Zulu was awarded the best forward award
The first team trophies were presented by Rudi Schutte and Michael Moxley (first team coaches).
• Sean Greyling was awarded the best back player award
• Hardus Labuschagne received the best forward player award
Some other notable awards includes:
• Most committed player award went to Martin Jordaan
• Most improved award go to Sasko
• Player’s player was awarded to Pappy
• The committee member award was awarded to Hardus Greyling
• Mike Ross received the player of the year award
• André Leach received the chairman’s award
