Sipho way ahead of his time

Sipho played an integral part of the team and during the festival he scored some great and remarkable tries to contribute to the success of his team.

During the September school holiday Sipho Vayise played in the national sevens tournament.

He formed part of a formidable and well-coached team who went all the way in winning this prestigious tournament.

The Lions was responsible for selecting a team to compete in one of the fastest growing sports on the planet – sevens rugby.

They returned triumphantly after the two days of very tough matches.

They lost the first game 12-10 against Border, but bounced back to beat their opponents in the semifinal. This team went from strength to strength and met the Bulls in the final.

Three weeks prior to this prestigious competition, the Bulls gave the Lions something to think about when they beat them convincingly in one of the warm-up tournaments at Bekker Primary.

This time it will be a much different approach and greater result for the young Lions beating their opponents 31-22 to bring the trophee home.

Sipho played an integral part of the team and during the festival he scored some great and remarkable tries to contribute to the success of his team.

Let us hope one day that this very talented individual will go on to represent his country, and who knows, he might even bring back a medal from one of the Olympic Games.
