Three suspects, two of whom are women and are aged between 37 and 43 were arrested for murder in central Kagiso on 28 October at about 9.30am.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson says the police received a complaint from Kadima Street at about 9.20pm on 27 October.
“At the given address, the police found a woman badly injured lying on the ground with open wounds to her head and face.”
Sibiya says the injured was unconscious and that a friend told the police that she had been assaulted by someone who lived in the same house with her.
“The woman was rushed to Leratong Hospital by ambulance in a serious but stable condition. She later died in hospital.”
Police investigations revealed that the three suspects were involved in committing the murder.
A case docket of assault to do grievous bodily harm and murder was opened at the Kagiso Police Station and all three suspects have made a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court.
