Krugersdorp’s Brad Binder secures best MotoGP finish in Austria

The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider collected 10 points after moving up five places from his grid position.

MotoGP racer Brad Binder from Krugersdorp recorded his best finish of the season at the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg from September 18 to 20.

Binder started 11th on the grid but quickly moved through the field, reaching sixth after five laps and fifth midway through the race. He eventually finished sixth, earning 10 championship points.

Battling top rivals

According to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Binder battled Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia while maintaining his pace on a soft front tyre.

Binder described the weekend as successful and praised his team for their efforts.

“I’m happy with the pace we were able to put together and happy with the work by the team,” he said.

Binder is currently 13th in the championship standings. His next race is the Japanese Grand Prix from October 1 to 4.
