Local housekeepers graduate from exclusive course

Three local housekeepers now are qualified in the art of housekeeping.

Three house keepers at a local guest house have been equipped with a unique set of skills and knowledge that place them a step ahead of the average house keeper after recently completing a certified housekeeping course.

The course was presented by Appl-Ann and is a unique initiative that trains people in the art of Relief Management for smaller accommodation and provides placement services for these personnel on an ad-hoc basis.

Although they had a basic understanding of how to clean a room Lucky Dube, Nonosi Shabangu and Vusi Mtembu employed at No 8 Guest House were trained to be more systematic and effective whilst cleaning.

According to Appl-Ann’s Krugersdorp branch manager Marianne Knoetze the training provides housekeepers with skills that meet a very specific need within the small accommodation sector of the country’s tourism industry.
