Another life lost as sixth crash rocks Pinehaven intersection

The latest fatal collision has renewed calls for urgent safety interventions at the accident-prone intersection.

A delivery motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving a truck and trailer at the Pinehaven intersection on Friday, June 5, marking the sixth accident reported at the intersection this week.

Emergency services and multiple response agencies attended the scene, where the motorcyclist was declared dead.

According to BCI Security communications officer Paul Catlett, the latest fatal crash has once again highlighted ongoing safety concerns at the intersection and renewed calls for increased law enforcement visibility in the area.

One needs to consider the larger economic cost, time spent in vehicles, failed appointments and the difficulty for first responders to get through once an accident has occurred,” said Catlett.

The collision caused significant traffic disruptions as emergency personnel worked at the scene.

Motorists have been urged to exercise extreme caution when approaching the intersection, which has been the site of multiple serious crashes in recent days.

The exact cause of the collision is under investigation.
