Correctional Services gives thanks to their officials
The Krugersdorp Correctional Services thank their officials for the hard work they have done in the past year.
The Krugersdorp Correctional Services’ Management Area held their annual Excellence Awards ceremony in style on 15 November to thank their officials for the hard work they have done in the past year.
The Batho Pele Award, which recognises an official who excelled in customer care, service to the public, responsiveness and fairness, enhanced development and growth of people and demonstrated continuous commitment to excellence was awarded to Dianda Meyer.
Amelia Steenkamp received the Good Governance Award with Harry Webster being the first runner-up. This award recognises individuals who are champions of efficiency and effectiveness; champions in preventing fraud and corruption, for ensuring transformation and promoting integrity in the department.
The Public Safety Award was handed over to Zenzile John Nxamangele to give him recognition as he excelled in enhancing security, humanely treated the offenders, reduced escapes and improved compliance with the security standards policy, holistically for safe and secure custody for the benefit of communities, officials and offenders.
The Deputy Minister’s Award, an award recognising the work of a team, was handed over to the Corporate Services, followed by the Emergency Support Team as the first runner-up and the Development Care as the second runner-up.
This award recognises the team that has contributed to a positive, healthy environment and to the wellness of fellow employees, and has provided a positive role model of the ideal correctional officer to other officials and offenders.
The Area Commissioner’s Special Awards, which was handed over by Mantombi Mbebe who is the Area Commissioner for the Krugersdorp Management Area, saw Mokgohlwe Sophy Kgasago, Bhekeisisa Mngomezulu, Richard Wolmarans, Winston Nonkwelo, Jacob Kotse and Thabo Phalalo walking away with a thank-you award.
The following officials were given recognition for long service:
Linda de Klerk, Sonnyboy Maisimane and Christo Naudé received an award for their 20 years in service, and Barend Keet, Kingdom Mothupi, Hudson Tsele and Thomas Bokweni were awarded for their 30 years in service.
