Local boy excels in triathlon

To make the new four-event X-DIRT Triathlon Challenge, which kicked-off at Buffelspoort Dam in North West province on 1 December more inclusive, its organisers have included a race, which consists of 150m of swimming, 7km of off-road cycling and a 2,5km run at each venue for children under the age of 16.

In action on Sunday’s race was Hoërskool Noordheuwel pupil Rodney Robinson (14), who showed his fellow competitors a clean pair of heels to cross the finish line first.

Parents who would like to enter their children, or themselves into the senior event of the next X-DIRT Triathlon Challenge at Roodeplaat Dam on Sunday 15 December can do so online at www.xdirt.co.za or on race morning at the venue from 6am.
