St Ursula’s School turns 110
To celebrate this achievement, the school will host a variety of entertainment.
St Ursula’s School, a school that is steeped in Catholic tradition and has a deep love for the pupils it serves, is turning 110 this year and to celebrate this milestone the school is planning tons of entertainment and activities.
From the humble beginnings of a single building to a school that has stood the test of time, St Ursula’s continues to provide a high standard of private education to both boys and girls of all cultures, thereby making the school a values-based place of excellent education, with a spirit of love for the community and its families.
In celebration of their 110th birthday on 9 February, a special open-air mass will be offered on Friday 7 February.
Reaching this achievement means that the entertainment will last a bit longer than one day with continued celebrations during the month of March.
A Bingo evening will be held on 24 March and it promises to be an evening of great entertainment. Anyone who would like to make up a table of eight is welcome to notify the school on 011 953 1078.
The cost of a ticket is R175 per person, which includes a light supper and five Bingo games.
Additional games can be bought, and refreshments will be on sale.
There will be lucky draws and great prizes to be won. For sports lovers, an auction of sports memorabilia will be held.
The school is very excited to be launching the U-Factor talent competition on 27 March and the pupils will enter to participate with elimination rounds taking place throughout February.
The finals will be an evening to remember. An alumni dinner for former pupils will be held on 26 March and alumni who are interested are asked to contact Beverley Stewart on 011 953 1078 for more information.
She says that tickets will be sold at the school office and that alumni are invited to make up tables of their fellow past pupils.
