Video: Flood water leaves man trapped on car roof
Most parts of Krugersdorp had been affected by heavy rain.
A driver had to be rescued from the roof of his car after it got stuck in flood water underneath the train bridge at the corner of Chamdor and Albertina Sisulu Roads in Krugersdorp.
By the time the NEWS arrived on the scene the driver still waited for help from medical response teams after climbing through the sunroof of his car.
Meanwhile most parts of Krugersdorp were affected by heavy flooding last week and pupils from Hoërskool Monument were sent home after the school became inaccessible due to the heavy rain.
The NEWS reported that the Monument Dam had flooded after reaching its capacity and mentioned school sporting events that had to be cancelled.
By Monday 3 February the possibility of a sunny start to the new week seemed bleak as the South African Weather Service predicted a 100 per cent chance and 20mm rain for the day.
