Police warns of new criminal tactics
The criminals are using a new method to lure and rob unsuspecting victims.

The Krugersdorp Cluster of the South African Police Service is concerned about the latest method criminals use in house robberies in their cluster.
Within a period of two months several homes in Kagiso were robbed by using this new method. Randfontein as part of the cluster also has been affected.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson explains how criminals lure and rob unsuspecting victims.
“In two separate incidents that took place in Kagiso in November and December, about three suspects entered the house and wanted to see the husband, calling him by name. One suspect would ask for water or to use the bathroom.”
He says when you try to attend to him, he will draw a firearm and either bind your hands or lock you up in your bedroom. The suspects then start robbing you of all valuables in your house.
“Members of the community must take the necessary precautions to avoid this kind of robbery by ensuring that their gates and burglar doors are always closed and locked. Do not work in another room while entrances to your house are open,” he says.
“Do not easily trust or let strangers into your home, even if they claim to know your husband or wife.”
Anyone with more information about the suspects is urged to contact Colonel Movhango who is the detectives coordinator at the Krugersdorp South African Police Services cluster on 011 696 9043.
