Local talent heads for international stardom
Krugersdorp beauty and singing talent Laura Marshall soon will pack her bags for New York.
Monument High School pupil Laura Marshall recently defied the odds and secured her place at the upcoming IMTA (International Modelling and Talent Convention) to be hosted at the Hilton New York City in July 2014.
Laura auditioned along with 100 contestants at Key West Mall and earned her spot in the national finals hosted at Emperors Palace. There she won an all-expenses paid trip to New York, sponsored by Figures CC Models and Talent International, the official member of the International Modelling and Talent Association in New York.
According to Louren Choudree who is Laura’s agent from Figures Models and Talent Krugersdorp, she is not only a pretty face but a talented vocal artist who will start her journey toward IMTA with a host of preparation workshops as she plans to take New York by Storm.
“Figures Models and Talent Krugersdorp is extremely proud of Laura and all our finalists, and we look forward to great awards whilst abroad,” she says.
Figures Models and Talent Krugersdorp is well known for their work among young aspiring models and in recent times established some of the top international models.
Last year the agency had seven young talented artists who attended IMTA. Kelly Murphy won second place as International Model of the Year and was among the most sought-after talent at the convention.
Another one of the agency’s talents, Jade Sillands placed first in the category for Best Female Vocal Artist and Jade Kelly was the second place overall winner in the Child Dancer category.
The IMA hosts 3 000+ contestants and 400+ agents looking for new talent to add to their portfolios.
“We look forward to seeing Laura grow from strength to strength. Laura will be engaged in an ambassadors programme on her return with the aim to encourage the Youth from the Mogale City basin to pursue their dreams and aspirations,” concludes Louren.
