VIDEO: Explosive drags on public holiday
Joining in the Exhibition fun will be Marius Coetzee in the Leyland Matador, 12litre twin-turbo V8 Drag Truck along with Shaun Watson in the turbo-charged Ford Cargo V8 Drag Truck.
Race enthusiasts can prepare themselves for an explosive day of action-packed racing as Tarlton International Raceway spins off round 2 of the 2014 SA National Drag Racing Championship on Monday 28 April.
Spectators will be guaranteed some awesome competition runs amongst some of the fastest drag car competitors in South Africa as the Top Eliminator Category showcases drivers such as the A-Class Dragster pilots, Dalmain Hattingh and Deon Swanepoel (Whiplash) along with the Top Alcohol Funny Car Pilots, Werner Conradie and Nico van Rensburg (Lethal Weapon) while they devour the asphalt with some spectacular racing on the day. These Top Eliminator beasts are known for posting monstrous times of six to seven seconds at over 300km/h over the quarter mile.
Bringing everything to the fight will be Nico van Rensburg (Adrenalize) to keep his championship points lead over the rest of the “SKF” Senior Eliminator arsenal.

Topping off the day will be exhibition runs by Nico van Rensburg and Shaun Watson in the famous Tarlton J34 Westinghouse Jet Dragsters. These beasts of machines is capable of reaching speeds in excess of 400km/h over a quarter mile, which you cannot afford to miss.
Tickets are on sale at Tarlton’s main gate on the day at R100 for adults and R50 for children aged six to12. The gates will open at 7am and racing is set to start at around 8am. Should the event rain out, it will be rescheduled for Sunday 4 May.
