Funfair for a serious cause
Residents showed up at the funfair in large numbers to show their support for those in need.
Residents from in and around Muldersdrift opened their hearts and wallets during a fun fair in aid of Roodepoort Child Welfare and the Breast Health Foundation on Saturday (24 May).
The fun fair initiated by Woman of Substance, a charity organisation aimed at raising awareness and funds through various projects and initiatives provided an exciting line-up to attract young and old.
Food, music and craft lovers enjoyed the endless treats on offer at stalls set up at Bosheuwel Country Estate – a venue with a unique outdoor and farm feel – while contributing towards a good cause.

The programme also included the Little, Junior & Miss and Master Sunshine Pageant, and the Little and Junior Master Chef Competition for the young ones.
Woman of Substance Managing Director Charlotte du Plessis expresses her appreciation toward those who came out to take part in the event and says the proceeds will be added to those of other fundraisers to be handed over to the organisations in need at the end of the year.
She explains that the concept around Woman of Substance is to recruit women who are willing to get involved and make the time to help raise much-needed funds for community organisations in need.
Women either can support the organisation’s projects or initiate their own with their support.
To become a Woman of Substance Ambassador requires registration to the organisation and an annual membership fee.
