Gold medals for gymnasts at first competition
The club that was started in 2013 is the only rhythmic gymnastics club in the area.
Gold Reef Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, which practices at Alma Mater Academy, recently entered 19 gymnasts in the annual South African Gymnastics Federation’s Novice North Team trophy event.

They achieved fantastic results at their first-ever competition.
Every gymnast was awarded a medal with Hannah Griffith and Hannah Jacobs each receiving a gold medal. Kalea Meyer (in front), 5, was awarded the highest scorer in the level-one under six section, and Saskia de Greef along with Jemma Atkinson placed second in the level-one under seven team section.
