Monument pupil’s big surprise
The children ended their very busy school day on a positive and cheerful note with some interesting tales to take home and share with their families.
Wimpy recently delighted children and among them one lucky winner with a visit to Monument Primary School.
Wimpy ran a competition with Free 4 All, a South African school newspaper aimed at entertaining and educating the youth.
Readers were given the opportunity to complete a flow chart and SMS their favourite Mr Men and Little Miss character name, which automatically ensured the participants a spot in the lucky draw. The prize was a Wimpy hamper that included a Mr Bump wallet and watch set, Mr Bump large plush doll, a full set of six Wimpy Mr Men and Little Miss activity books as well as a full set of Wimpy Mr Men and Little Miss figurines.
Earlier in June Wimpy Krugersdorp together with Just Imagine Consulting and Mr Men’s characters, Little Miss Sunshine and Mr Strong visited Monument Primary to award Grade 1 pupil Jean Hattingh for his participation in the competition.
The handover took place during assembly where Jean received his prize in the presence of his teachers and peers.
“Jean was very excited to receive his prize. We hope that he remembers this event and treasures it throughout his life. The school also welcomed us warmly and I think that the Mr Men characters were the cherry on top, providing the children with entertainment during the handover,” says Karabo Morudu from Wimpy.
It was a pleasant surprise to most of the pupils as well as their teachers as they did not expect the visit. A very enthusiastic Wimpy song and dance was performed to the children’s delight, and the other pupils got the opportunity to win some spot prizes of their own from Wimpy throughout the assembly.
