VIDEO: PJ Powers to perform for Logwood

PJ Powers will perform some of your personal favourites at Logwood Village's fundraising event.

PJ Powers will be giving the public a taste of her newly released CD at a fundraising charity event at Logwood Village, a home for adults with intellectual disabilities.

PJ Powers is one of the biggest singing sensations South Africa has ever produced. Recently declared a National Treasure she now shares her story.

In her new show Firefly she shines a light on everything – her life, her triumphs, her good and bad times, her hopes, dreams and fears; where she came from and where she’s going; her rise, fall and her rise again. Everything comes out of the dark and into the light; her demons and her salvation.

But in true PJ Power’s style she does it with some of the greatest hits the South African music scene has ever known and with a sense of humour that has become her trade mark.

On Sunday 29 June at noon on the grounds of the home in Nooitgedacht, PJ will perform some of your personal favourites, some of hers that you may not be so familiar with, and some brand new songs from her greatest album yet, Destiny.

Denise Foley, General Manager of Logwood Village says, “PJ’s compassion, love and sensitivity to those who have intellectual disabilities are evident by her participation in our Logwood Fundraiser. For us she exemplifies a true spirit of Ubuntu.

“Not only is she a great talent, but a great person as well.”

Karen Martin, Social Work Manager in charge of the holistic therapeutic services offered to the residents, adds, “Contrary to what most people believe, adults with intellectual disabilities do and have the right to a full and meaningful life. Fundraisers like this help provide the very necessary resources.”

Logwood Village is set in a beautiful country environment at Plot 100, Sunset Drive, Nooitgedacht just up the road from Garden World, and is the perfect setting for an outdoor music concert and family picnic.

Entrance is R100 for adults and R50 for children under 12. For further details contact Denise Foley on 087 754 3537/8/9 or email manager@logwoodvillage.co.za.
