Son (8) left behind after mother dies
The community is trying to raise funds to support Chrissy Kruger (8) after his mother passes away following a motorbike accident in Mindalore.
Balloons and flowers appeared on the Trezona Avenue island recently to commemorate the life of Rosalind Kruger who passed away after a serious motorcycle accident last month.
Kruger, who was a senior administrator at All Star Auto Service Centre in Roodepoort died in hospital on 17 June, four days after the accident.

Kevin Cogdell, general manager and owner of the All Star Auto Service Centre says the accident happened on her day off.
“She attended a funeral and came to the workshop at around noon to fetch something she left. About 25 minutes later I got the call that she was involved in an accident.”
Kruger was travelling on Trezona Avenue from Witpoortjie towards Albertina Sisulu Road to Krugersdorp.
“She crashed with a stationary tipper truck. Apparently she tried to swerve but unfortunately she hit the back of the truck on the side.”
Cogdell says she was admitted to hospital with fractures and injuries to her face.
“While in hospital she was in good spirit. She talked to us and we thought that she was going to get better.”
Then he got the news that she had passed.
“This was such a huge shock! She was my right hand at the workshop – the eyes and the ears. She definitely is irreplaceable.”

He says she was the cement that kept the business together.
“She was well-known in the area and to the customers.”
He will remember Kruger as someone who had an open heart for the people around her and always would try to help others in need.
“This was evident in her life and work.”
Eddie Peel, her previous employer and previous owner of All Star Auto Service Centre says he remembers the time she started working for him.
“She was hardworking and someone who grew with the company.”
Kruger is leaving behind her eight-year-old son Christiaan (Chrissy).
Cogdell says any help to Chrissy in the form of money, clothing and school fees will be appreciated.
“We are trying to raise some funds for him.”
The Sisters in Biking South Africa (Sibsa) organised the memorial motorbike run for Kruger. It started at the Eagle Spur in Ruimsig and ended at the accident scene opposite the Simfonie Church in Trezona Avenue.
