Man stops to change flat tyre; gets killed in crash
Two people died in two days on the same stretch of road.
A couple allegedly stopped on the N14 near Muldersdrift to change a flat tyre when a light delivery vehicle crashed into their car.
Netcare 911 paramedics were called to the scene in early morning traffic to find that one of the victims had passed away.
“Two other people were found in a critical condition,” says Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.
“The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured woman to hospital while the man also was airlifted to hospital for the urgent medical care that they required,” says Botha.
Just the day before another fatal accident occurred on the same stretch of road.
According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha an 11-year-old girl was killed on Monday (14 July) when she was knocked down by a minibus on the N14 near Muldersdrift.
“The girl was found lying on the roadway around 7.30am and was declared dead on the scene,” says Botha.
“According to the driver, the girl was running across the highway when the minibus hit her,” he says.
