Cupcakes in aid of children with cancer

A tea party in aid of suffering children.

The Third Krugersdorp Brownies hosted a tea party at Monument Primary with the aim of serving not just beverages but humankind as well.

Tea and snacks were put before 80 guests who each bought a ticket to attend the event, which single-handedly was planned by the girls between the ages of nine and 13.

Brownie guide Petra Esterhuizen says the girls were instructed to bake a batch of cupcakes to serve to their guests.

Proceeds from the event were donated to Cupcakes For Cansa – a Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) initiative for assisting families of young cancer patients.

β€œIn turn Cansa would donate money toward counselling, transport or other needs that families of the young patients might have,” explains Esterhuizen.

The event also was held for the girls to earn their hostess badges and the prizes were handed out to those who got creative and dressed their tables best.
