Casino set to employ 350 for new developments
The new employment opportunities to be created require tech-savvy individuals since only the latest technology, equipment and games imported from the USA will be used.
The R560 million refurbishments at Silverstar Casino is set to create 350 new jobs for local job seekers.
With the refurbishment nearing completion, Silverstar is getting ready to start populating its new restaurants and entertainment attractions with willing and career-seeking individuals.
The news recently had the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at the construction site of the gaming and family entertainment spot, which also will be opening later this year. This attraction, known as The Magic Company, is set to be the biggest on the West Rand and third biggest in the country.
The Magic Company, the largest operator of family entertainment centres in South Africa, is making final preparations.
At Silverstar it will feature a fun token games area, family favourite tenpin bowling and an epic laser tag facility. Its flagship stores in Johannesburg hosting an average of 25 000 visitors every weekend is testament to The Magic Company’s popularity among the general public.

The tenpin bowling alley is incredibly fun and eye-catching, featuring bright neon-coloured walls and bowling balls, disco lights and upbeat music playing in the background. It also includes twelve individual bowling lanes as well as alley barriers for inexperienced newbies.
Along with the tenpin bowling, the laser tag facility also will make for great team-building events.
Taking up three levels and covering approximately 450 square metres, the laser tag facility is for the more adventurous. Hosting smoke machines, glow-in-the-dark paint on the walls and lasers flashing in every direction, it really is the perfect venue for themed birthday parties or just a fun-filled day out with friends.
Visitors also can get in on the action with the X-rider currently operating in The Magic Company at Silverstar. This roller coaster simulator takes you, and three others, on an adrenalin rush whilst moving only a few feet above the ground.
With a range of different styled rides to choose from, it really is like having an entire amusement park at your feet.
Silverstar’s management believes that those interested in becoming an employee need to have passion for the family entertainment industry. This industry is the perfect starting point for casual labourers looking to further their career as it hosts an array of job opportunities.
