Hockey star in the making

Dario represented Krugersdorp High School and the Southern Gauteng Under 18A side during the July holidays.

Krugersdorp High School Grade 12 pupil and first hockey side captain, Dario Lourenco, has performed superbly so far this year.

After being left out of the under 18A side last year, Dario has shown his determination by developing his game to a level where he is regarded as the top schoolboy hockey player in the province.

His season started off by being selected for the under 21A South Gauteng Men’s Hockey side. Dario was the only under 18 pupil throughout the South Gauteng area to be selected for the men’s side.

His team went on to participate in the Under 21 Interprovincial Tournament in Cape Town where he held his own among the men.

Dario also has been selected to represent Krugersdorp High School and the Southern Gauteng Under 18A side. They competed in the under 18 Interprovincial Tournament held at Maritzburg College during the July holidays.

Over and above the great personal achievements on the provincial side, Dario has obtained his 100th cap for KHS’s first team.

The side currently is ranked among the Top 20 sides in the country. Well done Dario!
