A man had to be extricated and placed on a ventilater before being transported to a nearby hospital for the needed medical attention.
A taxi accident on the K13 in Krugersdorp left a man fighting for his life.
Chris Botha, Netcare 911 spokesperson says reports indicate that the taxi was travelling along the K13 at around 3.30am when, for reasons still unknown, it veered off the road and rolled down an embankment. Its came to rest in a small stream.
“Netcare 911 paramedics and the emergency services arrived at the scene and found the driver trapped in the crumpled remains of the taxi,” he says.
“While rescue personnel worked fervently for about 30 minutes to free the patient using the Jaws of Life, paramedics had to clamber into the wreckage to stabilise the injured man.”
After the patient was extricated and placed on a ventilator, paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital for the specialised care he required.
