Boks visit new venue dedicated to rugby

This arena will become one of the social hubs of the new-look Silverstar.

Springbok rugby players Morné Steyn, Pat Lambie, Tendai Mtawarira (Beast) and Francois Louw visited Silverstar Casino to view the location of the brand-new Boktown venue that will be ready soon.

Springbok rugby matches will be screened on a 62m² state-of-the-art high-definition screen and the Boktown venue will be able to seat up to 1 000 spectators. The multi-million rand screen measures over 10m wide by over five metres high, and is located at the bottom of the newly built outdoor square.

This arena will become one of the social hubs of the new-look Silverstar.

Currently undergoing a R560-million expansion, Silverstar, one of Tsogo Sun’s over 90 hotels and 14 casino and entertainment destinations, soon will become a premier entertainment destination on Joburg’s West Rand. The complex is being redeveloped to create a variety of additional dining options, entertainment facilities and function venues, allowing it to host live concerts, expos, events and the popular Boktown.

“We realised that our customers enjoy spending time outdoors and to make full use of this concept and our spectacular location we’re introducing an outdoor square that will host Boktown screenings,” says Shane Collinson, Director of Operations and Complex General Manager at Silverstar.

Four new restaurants will border the square offering al fresco dining for the whole family.

These restaurants will have terraces with views of the big screen and Boktown.
