Ice Bucket Challenge : High school raises thousands
Teachers and pupils got wet for a good cause.
Over 40 willing and wet teachers at Krugersdorp High School accepted a dousing from pupils who raised R4 000 for Joost van der Westhuizen’s J9 Foundation.
In addition, educators collected R1 000 of their own to reciprocate by swamping the representative council of pupils’ executive presidents in the Ice Bucket Challenge.
The foundation relies almost entirely on donations to continue efforts in promoting awareness of and aiding individuals who suffer from motor neuron disease.
The spirit of Ubuntu prevails at Krugersdorp High as parents, pupils and staff are encouraged to help one another and less fortunate members of society as often as possible.
