Another year of awarding early childhood development
More than 46 certificates and 24 floating trophies in 19 different categories were handed out to principals from Gauteng and the North West Province.
Early childhood development caregivers had a reason to celebrate.
At the Play With A Purpose’s seventh annual awards dinner, principals who follow the Play With A Purpose programme were rewarded and recognised for their hard work.
The prestigious black-tie event was held in the bucolic environs of Hekpoort, at the YFC Training Centre and was a resounding success.
Around 80 per cent of a child’s brain is developed by the age of five, which is why the often overlooked hard work that these caregivers do is of the utmost importance. “When we change the first five years of a child’s life, we change everything,” says Robyn Wienand of Play With A Purpose.
More than 46 certificates and 24 floating trophies in 19 different categories were handed out to principals from Gauteng and the North West Province.
Over 120 delegates attended, including three Play With A Purpose trustees.
Winners included two schools from Mogale City, Rainbow Drift Pre-School and Tjokkertjies vir Jesus Pre-School that both won awards for Schools of Excellence .
A highlight of the evening was keynote speaker Ed Ramsami who in his usual humorous way inspired preschool teachers to make their mark.
