Annual dog run this weekend

Although the day is set to be jam-packed with fun for participants and their furry pets, it’s also about giving back to the community.

Dog lovers unite, The Runner’s World Dog Run is heading your way on 15 November, in association with Montego Pet Nutrition, in the beautiful countryside at Walkhaven Dog Park in Muldersdrift.

Round up friends and family and choose between either the three km or six km distance run with your canine compatriot and look forward to plenty of great entertainment, music, picnic spots as well as lucky-draw prizes on the day.

Although the day is set to be jam-packed with fun for participants and their furry pets, it’s also about giving back to the community, with a portion of proceeds raised going towards the Barking Mad Foundation which aims to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home South Africa’s abandoned pets.

“As a dog lover myself, there are very few events dedicated to having fun with our pets whilst keeping healthy,” said Mike Finch, Editor at Runner’s World.

“The Dog Run aims to do just this, and we hope that dog owners join us for this exciting day out, whether taking part in the run, or supporting from the side-lines!”

Entry for the Dog Run is only R160 per person and includes race entry, a doggie bandana, goodie bag, donation to Barking Mad, a three month subscription to Runner’s World and a free dog wash, compliments of Comfortis.

Registration starts at 6am, for the six km starts at 7.30am and the three km starts at 8am.

Bookings can be made via email dogrun@media24.com, or register on the day.
