No news about woman arrested in Japan allegedly for drugs
Still no new information about the local woman arrested in Japan.
There has been no confirmation yet that the 36-year-old woman from Krugersdorp, Marilyn Massyn who was reported missing, indeed was arrested for being found with drugs in her possession.
Massyn allegedly was travelling with a friend to the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi on 22 October, however, four days later she was reported missing by her family.
Last week the family was informed that Massyn was found to be in a Japanese prison.
Shortly after entering Japan through an airport, Massyn was arrested for drug-related charges, but at the time of going to print, no formal charges had been laid against her.
Japanese police and authorities are investigating the case.
The news spoke to Nelson Kgwete of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation who said there is no further information about Massyn’s situation in Japan, however he is in constant contact with Massyn’s family.
Kgwete could confirm her arrest only and that any new information would be communicated to the media as soon as it becomes available.
At the time of going to print, calls to Kgwete remained unanswered and Massyn’s family also had declined an interview with the news.
The news will keep its readers updated as new information comes to light.
