VIDEO: A tour of a drug house

Nightmare on Luipaard Street as police raid one of many drug-infested houses.

The news takes Krugersdorp readers on an exclusive tour of a drug-infested house in Luipaard Street during a monthly clean-up raid.

On arrival at a condemned house, raiders started looking for a way in as foreigners who allegedly run the house have ensured that it is not easily accessible. After breaking open the front door the news along with Sector 4 CPF members, Krugersdorp Police members and Mogale City Traffic Department officials entered at their own risk.

The house is believed to be owned by a foreigner who also has shares in the shop on the corner and who rents out a room allegedly for R100 a month.

Walking down the passage of the house one could not help but notice the illegally connected electricity wires draped untidily against the dirty walls. All the light switches in the rooms have been removed and the holes are filled with rolled-up newspapers to cover the holes.

All the windows are covered – either with political party posters or fabric off-cuts – ensuring no-one can peek through the broken windows.

Wood had been stripped from the once beautiful wooden floors and one can see rubbish of all sorts hidden underneath.

Breaking open the locked doors revealed suspected sex workers sleeping on rotten mattresses on the floor and condoms littering the floors; sufficient proof for it to be a building in which sex workers go about their business.

Small unused plastic bank bags were found around every corner, indicating that drugs are being packaged and sold from this house.

Glass pipes used to smoke crystal meth, rocks and nyaope were hidden in some of the windowsills.

The kitchen was filthy and it was not hard to see that it was not used as that. The bathroom is the most shocking part of the house as one can not wrap your head around the disgusting state of the toilet and shower as this video shows:

The news also walked in on a suspected prostitute and pimp in a compromising position while accompanying police who were raiding the house.

The news saw some familiar faces who beg for money at traffic lights around town on a daily basis; two of whom the news caught red-handed scamming the residents of Krugersdorp by pretending to be disabled.

Sadly it would seem that these once pristine houses now have gone to the dogs as there is nothing left to show except it being a haven for drug-infused sex workers and beggars who work the streets of Krugersdorp.
