CPF sparks during blackout

Fuses used to produce drugs were stolen, leaving residents in the dark.

A Community Policing Forum sparked to restore electricity after criminals had stolen fuses from a nearby electricity box.

Residents who recently moved to Krugersdorp North felt extra welcome after CPF members swiftly jumped in and contacted Mogale City Local Municipality contractors to replace the fuses, late one Wednesday evening.

After the blackout at 8pm, the new residents noticed that the lights further up the street were on.

Their friendly neighbour approached them, offering the number for the local CPF.

They called Pieter Sparks who helped sort out the dilemma in less than two hours.

It is believed these fuses are stolen from the electricity boxes and the powder in the fuse is used to produce the drug Nyaope.

The CPF members continued patrolling up and down the street during the power outage to ensure the safety of the residents.
