Community and CPF smashes crime
The community came together to smash crime all in the name of fundraising and crime awareness.
The Sector 3 Community Policing Forum members and residents of the area came together to celebrate a year of crime fighting.
The theme of the day was ‘smashing crime’ and that was exactly what CPF members did when they took a rolling pin and smashed a chocolate cake into pieces. Children’s faces lit up as sweet delights bursts out of the cake.
Tier for tier were smashed as children stood anxiously around the table waiting to collect the treats.
The cake was made of colourful chocolate molds which was filled with various sweets on the inside. The purpose of the day was not only to create awareness of crime during the so-called silly season, but also to raise much-needed funds for the sector.
The funds will be used to invest in CPF jackets and for patrolling members.
Mogale City’s Traffic Department also supported the day by joining in the festivities, chatting to members of the community and checking if licence discs were up to date and if there were any outstanding fines.
