The Muldersdrift Police managed to arrest a 31-year-old man last week (Tuesday 2 December) for armed robbery.
Hitler Ngwenya, police spokesperson said the complainant was on her way home when she saw an unknown man approaching her from behind.
“The man threatened to stab her with a knife and demanded money and her cellphone. After taking what he wanted, he fled the scene.”
As the complainant was able to identify him members of the public managed to apprehend the suspect, after which he was handed over to the police.
Ngwenya said David Seabi, commander of the Muldersdrift Police Station appreciates the partnership between the police and members of the public.
The suspect has made a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.
