Weight-loss champions awarded

Sportcon owner said he is extremely proud of what his champions have accomplished this year.

The Sportcon Fitness and Performance Centre in Monument recently awarded their fitness champions for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

Stian Weideman, Sportcon owner said he is extremely proud of what his champions, as he calls them, have accomplished this year and is excited about what next year will bring.

“We definitely will be working even harder to get better results. I know next year will be an even more successful year considering all the projects we will be taking on.”

He said it is his mission to make a difference in people’s lives.

This year alone the gym managed to slim down even more clients with their Transformation Camp during which 513kg and 1014cm were lost.

Two of their stars this year are husband and wife John and Cindy Barnardt who together have lost more than 100kg and almost 130cm.

John came to the gym in May this year when he weighed 302kg. He has lost more than 70kg since.

One of the other champions includes Duncan Stephen who received the Transformer of the Year award for having lost 51cm, 34kg, completed three Warrior Races and attended 90 per cent of his sessions – sometimes two conditioning sessions a day.

The Warrior of the Year award was handed over to Ben de Villiers who has been a 28-Day Challenge Winner and completed seven Warrior Races this year, among other.

Some other awards handed out included champions of the Transformation and Warrior Challenge.
