Woman steals thousands from sister

A woman realised that the amount in her account was not correct.

Where should one draw the line when a family member steals your hard-earned money?

A woman from Kagiso realised that about R11 000 has gone missing from her bank account when she went to withdraw money.

Solomon Sibiya, a spokesperson of the Kagiso Police said she then realised for the first time that her account balance was not what it should have been.

“She approached her bank, which provided relevant statements. The complainant found that her younger sister had made some withdrawals over a couple of weeks without her consent.”

He said she then confronted her sister who admitted to making the withdrawals.

“She informed some of her relatives what had happened and they took her to the police station.”

Sibiya said the suspect will be making a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court facing charges of theft.
