Late on Friday night, 16 January, members of the CPF Sector 4 and Sector 8 responded to a shooting in Wentworth Park.
Arriving at the scene they found a young woman who was shot in the lower part of her body.
Shortly after a team of paramedics from ER24 and Netcare 911 arrived, the young woman was stabilised and quickly transported to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
The shooting took place on the corner of Barrat and Main Reef Road at 9pm.
It is believed that the young woman is a suspected sex worker who was shot by an alleged client.
The news will confirm the allegation with a follow up report as soon as more information becomes available.
