An alleged dagga dealer was arrested by the Krugersdorp Police and the K9 Unit on 21 January after he was caught with bags of dagga in his possession.
The arrest followed after concerned community members approached the police about the suspect dealing in dagga in the area.
Officers on duty were sent to the location where they saw the suspect behaving suspiciously.
They asked to search him and found him in possession of dagga packaged into small plastic ziplock bags.
The suspect was taken into custody and detained at the Krugersdorp Police Station.
He will face charges that include dealing in and possession of dagga.
It has been a successful week for the Krugersdorp Police as another six suspects were arrested for different offences, which include possession of drugs as well as dagga.
“We appreciate the partnership between the community and the police. Drug-related crime is a serious problem in our community and we must work together to make sure families don’t go through the stress of a loved one being addicted to an illegal substance,” Sergeant Tspepiso Mashale, Krugersdorp Police communication officer said.
