My grass mysteriously disappeared
Residents have a theory as to why their grass mysteriously disappeared.
When residents from Quellerie Park walked past their house during a late afternoon stroll, they stumbled upon a strange discovery – a piece of their lawn was missing.
After inspecting the empty patch of grass carefully, they had a shocking or perhaps a striking (excuse the pun) realisation. After a week of scary thunderstorms and heavy rains, Melissa Lewis recalls one specific night.
On Tuesday night, 27 January, Melissa believes the devastating lightning might have struck the lamppost at the corner of the pavement, which is only metres away from her bedroom.
Ironically the missing patch of grass is somewhat two metres from the lamppost, which could support Melissa’s theory.
Black grass still can be seen on the patch, which once was covered in beautiful thick green grass.
The pavement next to where the grass is gone, also is a shade or two lighter, which suggests it may have been hit by lightning.
