Airlifted after quad bike accident

A man was airlifted to a local hospital after sustaining injuries in a quad bike accident in Magaliesburg over the weekend.

Chitra Bodasing, an ER24 spokesperson said details indicates that the man was riding through a quad bike trail when he lost control while going around a bend.

“It is believed he was ejected from the quad bike. He had hit a tree before landing about a metre down a slope.”

He is currently in a critical condition.

Bodasing said ER24 paramedics as well as Life Healthcare paramedics treated the man.

“The Fire and Rescue Department was on scene to offer assistance as well.”

The injured patient was transported by ER24’s helicopter for the urgent medical care that he needed.
