Police looking for hit-and-run suspect

A woman was approached by a man but when she refused to get into his car, he ran her over.

A case of attempted murder was opened after a man allegedly ran over a woman with his car.

Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson said last Friday they received an anonymous call at 9.30pm informing them about this incident.

He said when police arrived they found the woman lying on the ground. She told the officers that she was walking down Khutsa Street when a man approached her.

“He allegedly wanted to force her into his vehicle. When she refused, the suspect got out of his car and pulled her by her hair.”

Sibiya said thereafter he drove towards the woman and knocked her to the ground with his car.

“She got up and tried to run away, but the suspect allegedly knocked her down again before driving off at a high speed.”

The woman was taken to hospital to have injuries to her legs and right arm attended to.

A case was opened at the Kagiso Police Station. Police are looking for the driver of a white Toyota Tazz with registration number TBK 934 GP.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is requested to phone the police station on 011 696 9070.
